COMING TO FINLAND
​#CHECKLIST

0. Download Telegram and join TaSciEn Fuksi Telegram group
​1.  Accept your study place
2.  Apply for the residence permit, if you comes from an none EU/EEA country
3.  Apply for an apartment via TOAS or POAS
4.  Register at the Digital and Population Data services agency (DVV)
5.  Register as present for academic year
6.  Pay Student Union fee and Kela Healthcare fee
7.  Activate your TUNI account
8.  Order student card

TEEKKARI CULTURE - IMPORTANT TERMS

1. Fuksi
Freshman, first year student 
2. Fuksi Captains
People in charge of tutoring and fuksi. Organizing fuksi events 
3. Teekkari
​Engineering student; after getting dipped, fuksi will become Teekkari 
4. Teekkari Dipping
Fuksi will get dipped at Tammerkoski on 1st of May, rise as Teekkari 
5. Guild
Each guild represents a degree in the university, each city/university in Finland has different guilds and clubs. Join TaSciEn :D 
6. Overalls
What students accross Finland wear during events, parties. Each guild has their own color of overalls. TaSciEn is cyan 
7. Teekkari Cap
​Engineering student cap, only worn during summer. 
8. Wappu
​Student celebration on 1st of May where you will get dipped. Big grand city scale event. 
9. Guildroom
​Each guild has their own guildroom where as a member you can come and hangout with coffee, tea, snack, and entertainment. Guild members will often be here 
​10. Sitsit
Sitsit, or academic table parties, are dinners where you sing, eat and drink. Sitsis often have a theme, so people either dress up or wear overalls. Learn more by attending fuksisitsit. 
11. Excursions
Trip where you will visit companies related to your field of study. 
12. Fuksi passport
​Beginning of the year, you will receive a fuksipass, in which you must gather 300 points throughout the year to get dipped and become Teekkari.
